25 private houses complex, 2009

The project concerns a complex of 25 two-storey houses located at an area consisting of eight plots, near the work farms in Sani, Kassandra, Chalkidiki.

The concept idea includes the design of five house types, consisting of one to three bedrooms. The location and mass organization of the houses were determined by the orientation, the access and the site morphology. The basic design idea was the development of morphologically integrated residential unities, part of a general layout, the boundaries of which are defined by the house fences.

The main uses are organized at ground and first floor levels, while the auxiliary are located in the basement. The dominating morphological elements are the timber sliding screens in metal frame, which protect the glass parts of the facades, while translucent formed glass panels cover the stairwell facades.

The houses yards include swimming pools, sitting areas, deck floors as well as green areas. Pergolas of metal frame and wood are placed in the swimming pools areas, while the grater part of roofs is planted.

The building shell is constructed from reinforced concrete and break walls. Plasterboard internal partitions and plasterboard internal cladding to exterior walls are used.

The fences at the site boundaries are stone cladded, while retaining walls at landscaped steps are constructed from sandblasted concrete.
